Currently, there are burning restrictions in place in the Township of Faraday. Day time burning is only permitted if the fire is for cooking or warmth. These restrictions will be in place from April 1, to October 31, and are in place every year during this time. Click here for more information on fire permits.

Welcome to the Faraday Fire Department's home on the world wide web.  We are a fully functional volunteer department charged with the task of providing fire protection and other emergency services to the residents and travelers who are in Faraday Township.  Located 3 hours east of Toronto, and 3 hours west of Ottawa, near Bancroft Ontario,  Faraday Township is nestled in the forest of Eastern Ontario, on the Canadian Shield.

The Faraday Fire Department is made up of dedicated members, these include the Chief, Deputy Chief, 3 Captains, Fire Prevention Officer, and a Trainer/Facilitator.

Based out of two fire halls, we are well equipped to respond quickly to whatever situation arises.  The Bow Lake Hall is located at the corner of Hwy 28 and Lower Faraday Road and houses the Snuffer, Tanker, and Equipment Van.  The Bay Lake Hall is located on Bay Lake Road just past Freymond Lumber and houses our Pumper, and Dakota 4x4.

Enjoy your stay, and come back often, as things are always changing here.

Flashing Green Lights

"Flashing Green Lights" What do they mean?

A flashing green light is a volunteer firefighter's way of asking other motorists to give them the right of way so that they can safely make their way to their responding fire hall or to the scene during an emergency.

Should you see an approaching vehicle with a flashing green light please be courteous and pull over. Remember that volunteer firefighters are giving their time to save the lives and/or livlihood of others in need.

Thank you in advance,

Randy Young
